The city of Riihimäki initiates cooperation negotiations in the area of responsibility for liberal arts work and basic art education. The Culture and Welfare Board decided to start negotiations at its meeting on Wednesday, December 13. Riihimäki civic college, art school and music college operate in the area of responsibility.
"The aim of the negotiations is to find out the personnel structure and resources of the Riihimäki Art School and, if necessary, to correct the legality of the employment relationships of the current personnel," says director of education Jari Lausvaara.
The negotiations include six people from the civic college and the art school. The negotiations will start in January 2024 and last an estimated six weeks.
A total of 132 people work at Riihimäki civic college, art school and music college. The art school is administratively a part of Riihimäki civic college. Riihimäki art school offers basic art education for children and teenagers aged 5–18, as well as adults.
