The Riihimäki city council tabled the matter regarding the personnel space solution at its meeting on Monday, September 30.9.2024, 2. City manager Jouni Eho proposed to the board that it approve the project plan for the space solution for the personnel and initiate an implementation plan, as a result of which the city of Riihimäki would have centralized the work spaces of the city's personnel in Matkakeskus (Eteläinen Asemakatu XNUMX).

According to the project plan, the city could introduce flexible and modern work spaces gradually from summer 2025. The office reform according to the mayor's proposal concerns approximately 140 city employees. The city has a total of approximately 1100 employees.

According to the project plan, the city's customer service facilities would be located on the first floor of the Matkakeskus, and the staff's working facilities would be located on the top three floors. Currently, the personnel within the scope of the city's reform is divided into two buildings: Matkakeskus and the adjacent office center Veturi.

The proposal would reduce the need for personnel facilities by approximately 840 square meters. The proposed solution would be 80 euros cheaper per year than the current two-building model.
