Jouni Eho as chairman of Kanta-Häme municipal leaders

The municipal leaders of Kanta-Häme elected Riihimäki mayor Jouni Eho as their new chairman for 2024. Eho takes over the appeal when Janakkala's municipal manager Reijo Siltala moves on to other duties.

Hausjärvi municipal manager Pekka Määttänen was elected vice-chairman.

Until the fall of 2023, the municipal leaders' meetings were convened by the Häme union, but at the union's suggestion in October, the municipal leaders decided on a rotating chairmanship for one year at a time.

- I am happy and taken by the trust I have received from my fellow municipal leaders. We have a good spirit and an atmosphere of doing things together, which I intend to stick to in the future, promises Jouni Eho.

- There is currently a positive development drive in Kanta-Hämee despite the challenges of the public finances. Cooperation between the regional districts of the province and the provincial association is extremely important to ensure the monitoring of interests, Eho sees.
