Shift parking on Jarrumiehenkatu between Temppelikatu and Kalevankatu during winter maintenance

The parking restrictions on Jarrumiehenkatu in the center will be changed. On the section between Kalevankatu and Temppelikatu, signs indicating shift parking have been placed during the winter maintenance season. The new arrangement requires the residents and road users of the area to learn a new practice.

The matter was already decided on February 27, 2019, but now the decision is being implemented for the first time. The traffic signs for alternate parking will be removed at the end of winter. Riihimäki has no other on-shift parking facilities.

The goal is better maintenance of Jarrumiehenkatu

Good street maintenance creates the conditions for safe and smooth movement. In the winter, maintenance has been difficult on Jarrumiehenkatu due to parked cars. Due to the difficulty of maintenance, for example, fewer parking spaces have been available.

In alternate parking, it is prohibited to park a vehicle with traffic sign C44.1 on odd days of the month and with sign C44.2 on even days of the month, in both cases on the side of the street where the sign is placed. According to the sign, the parking ban is valid from 8 o'clock in the morning until 8 o'clock the next day.
