Stormwater drainage area update proposal on display

The City of Riihimäki is preparing an update to the stormwater drainage area. The update will bring the boundaries of the stormwater network up to date to reflect the city's construction and expansion of the network.

The stormwater drainage area defines the areas where the water supply company is responsible for the drainage of rainwater and meltwater. The update now concerns the annex map to the stormwater drainage agreement approved in 2016, which was last updated in 2019.

The aim of the update is to add to the stormwater drainage area those areas where a stormwater network has been built since the previous update or where construction of a network is planned, and to clarify the previous boundaries. Properties located in the stormwater drainage area have the obligation and right to connect to the stormwater drainage.

The expansion areas and planned stormwater network areas are presented on the map in the consultation materials.
