The renovation plan for the Hirsimäki sports field is on display until March 5th.

The outdoor sports facility renovation plan for the Hirsimäki sports field will be available for city residents to view from February 19 to March 5, 2025.

Baseball field, basketball court, running tracks

The goal is to build a junior-sized baseball field that meets the requirements of the Finnish Baseball Association. In addition, the plan is to expand and improve the existing ice hockey rink by asphalting its base. An asphalt basketball court, 60-meter running tracks, and a long jump area will also be built on the field.

For safety and field maintenance reasons, the field is demarcated from the parking area with recycled, vertically installed granite curbstones, the purpose of which is to prevent vehicles from driving onto the field.

During construction, the field's drainage will be improved by drainage and renovation of the ditch on the southern edge of the field.

The aim is to complete the basic improvement by autumn 2025.
