Hirsimäki (Sako) sports field fencing work begins on May 19th

The fencing work for the Hirsimäki sports field (also known as Sako Field) will begin on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, and the estimated duration of the work is until the end of May 2026.

The construction site area will be demarcated with construction site fences and the work will prevent, at least partially, use of the field on weekdays between 7 am and 18 pm. The area will also experience noise from the construction site, construction machinery and truck traffic at the same time.

A new fence adds protection

The fencing contract will remove the old, poor-quality fence around the area. A new fence will be built in its place. The fence will prevent vehicles from entering the field area and will also protect nearby properties from flying game equipment from the field area.

The field area was completely renovated in late summer 2025, and the renovation improved the field's comfort and increased the area's versatility.

Hirsimäki sports field is located in Luotilinjanpuisto in the Hirsimäki district.
