The renovation of the Hirsimäki (Sako) field is complete

The renovation of the Hirsimäki sports field has been completed, with minor finishing touches, and will be available for use starting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

There will be minor finishing touches to the field, such as finishing the edges and ramps of the field area, marking the baseball field's batting practice areas, and installing the ice rink. The finishing work will cause only minor disruption, and the installation of the rink will be announced separately. The basketball court markings and baskets will be added to their own field area in spring 2026.

The area's new lighting allows for year-round use. After the finishing work, it will be possible to play baseball, football, roller hockey, basketball, sprinting, long jump, ice skating and various ice games in the area.

I hope the field meets our needs well and we can still enjoy the joy of outdoor exercise this fall!
