The City of Riihimäki conducted an annual personnel survey in early 2026. The results are overall very good. In most themes, the results have even improved compared to the previous year.

The results of the personnel survey were compared with the results of similar surveys conducted by the survey partner (Bondata Oy) in other municipalities and cities. According to the results, Riihimäki's strengths are particularly the leadership of the immediate superior, the motivation of the personnel, the goal-oriented nature of the work, and factors related to the content of the work.

It is easy to turn to the person in charge

In particular, the work of immediate superiors receives excellent ratings in the City of Riihimäki. Personnel feel that it is easy to turn to their superiors. The rating was 5,1 on a scale of 1–6. Personnel also feel that they enjoy the trust of their superiors (5,1) and the actions of their superiors are perceived as fair (4,9).

Over 80% of respondents said they felt their work was important and meaningful (5,2). Similarly, 80% said the work was sufficiently varied (5,1).

Assessments of community are also at a good level. Assessments in this theme have improved further from the previous year across the board. For example, personnel feel that they receive help and support from colleagues whenever needed (5,1 > 5,2).

The personnel survey collects information about the views of employees and supervisors about their own work, their well-being at work and their work community. With the help of the personnel survey, the goal is to find concrete development areas in the work units and for the city as a whole, to which the city's employer should pay attention in the future.

Cooperation between different industries and information flow emerged as development needs at the city level from this year's survey.

Two-thirds of the staff responded

825 people responded to the personnel survey, which is 66 percent of the entire personnel of the City of Riihimäki. The City of Riihimäki has a total of approximately 1,200 employees.

Supervisors will discuss the results with the staff of their work community by June 2026. The results have been announced within the city on April 7.
