Does your child want to music class for first grade?

The application for the first grade music class at Eteläinen koulu is open until December 15. The Eteläinen koulu school has music classes in grades 1-5.

The student place in the future first grade music class is a priority student place and includes the right to the school transport benefit according to the school transport rule, mainly by public transport.

If you want to apply for a school place for your child in the 1st grade music class at Eteläinen koulu school, proceed as follows:

• Fill up electronic registration form By December 15, 2024.
• Prepare with your child for a small entrance exam. The entrance exam includes rhythm repetition, melody repetition and a freely chosen song is performed there. In the entrance exam, you can sing, for example, the familiar song Twinkle twinkle little star.
• The entrance exams will be held on Wednesday the 8th, Thursday the 9th and Monday the 13th of January 2025. Choose a date that suits you from the form.
• Come to the Eteläinen school for the entrance exam on the day of your choice and approximately at the time of your choice.
• Enter through the blue main doors. There is a waiting area in the lobby and from there everyone is invited in turn to class room 12 (class 1A). The teachers Marja Hämäläinen (tel. 0403516331) and Minna Välimäki (tel. 0405815163) will participate in the entrance exam.

Pupils are selected for the class based on the entrance exams. A music class will be established if at least 16 students get into the class based on the entrance exam.

The desicion of the school to the first grade will be announced in February-March 2025.

Eteläinen koulu is located next to the center of Riihimäki, at Lopentie 11. The school has about 300 students in grades 1–5. In the sixth grade, students move to Kara school, and students in the music class proceed to Harjunrinne school.
