The South Häme employment area will serve customers from the beginning of January 2025, when TE services have been transferred from the state to the municipalities. The employment area strives to make the change as smooth as possible for customers.

The South Häme employment area, or EHTA, will offer employment, economic and integration services from January 2025, when employment and economic services have been transferred from the state to the municipalities. With this TE reform, the state employment and business offices, or TE offices, will be abolished at the end of 2024. The South Häme employment area consists of the city of Riihimäki and the municipalities of Hausjärvi, Janakkala and Loppi.

The employment area also organizes the services of immigrants who are job seekers. The new Integration Act will enter into force at the same time as the TE reform on the 1st of January 2025. From then on, the municipality is responsible for promoting the integration of both unemployed job seekers and those outside the labor force.

EHTA serves customers in four municipalities

The South Häme employment area serves all its customers face-to-face in Riihimäki, Janakkala, Hausjärvi and Loppi, at the following addresses:

  • Temppelikatu 2, Riihimäki;
  • Torikatu 1, Turenki;
  • Keskustie 2–4, Oitti;
  • Yhdystie 5, Loppi.

The Riihimäki office is open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 15 p.m. and the Janakkala office from Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 15 p.m. In order to handle matters at the Hausjärvi and Loppi offices, the customer must make an appointment. You can make an appointment

The employment area also serves immigrants in Kotola, Riihimäki, at Eteläinen Asemakatu 2, Riihimäki. Kotola is open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 15 pm.

All five locations will be closed on Thursday, January 2, 2025. In practice, the employment area will serve customers from Friday, January 3, 2025, when it opens the doors of its Riihimäki office.

Even though the TE offices will be closed down, Job Market Finland, which is familiar to the customers of the TE office, will remain in use. There you will continue to find information, services and open jobs related to working life. Through Job Market Finland, you can log in to, among other things, the E-services, where you can activate your job search.

The staff of the South Häme employment area can also be reached by email. Disruptions in services are possible

The TE and KOTO reforms are historically extensive, and the municipalities of the South Häme employment area have also prepared and prepared for them in a multidisciplinary manner. Still, various disruptions, outages and delays in services are possible at the beginning of 2025.
