On Saturday, May 11.5.2024, 14, at XNUMX p.m., Museum Center Riemu will host a presentation on Constantin Guys inspired by Helene Schjerfbeck. Art historian and Villa Gyllenberg's longtime chief guide Sue Cedercreutz-Suhonen talks about the influence of French artist Constantin Guys on Helene Schjerfbeck's art in her presentation. The presentation also deals with the development of Schjerfbeck's art, his interest in fashion and his longing for Paris.

Two of Schjerfbeck's reinterpretations of Guys' works are currently on display at the Museum Center Riemu's exhibitions: Paris Girl and Black Hatted Woman. The works belong to the Tatjana and Pentti Wähäjärvi collection of the Riihimäki Art Museum.

You can participate in the event for the price of the Museum Center Riemu admission fee of €4/6/10. The Museum Card can also be used as a means of payment. Welcome!
