Anna-Riitta Kujala is presented as the director of vitality

City manager Jouni Eho proposes to the city council that the architect Anna-Riitta Kujala be elected as the new director of vitality of Riihimäki. In his place, the mayor presents engineer (YAMK) Niina Matkalaa. The city council will discuss the selection of the director of vitality at its meeting on Monday, June 3, 2024.

In addition to his education as an architect, Kujala has a Master of Arts. He has studied a lower university degree in land use planning and a specialized professional degree in management. Kujala is currently working as a regional architect for the city of Vantaa.

The election of the Vitality Director is conditional, and the election becomes effective after the candidate presents an acceptable medical certificate. The position is subject to a six-month probationary period.

19 people applied for Riihimäki's vitality director, three of whom were sent for a suitability assessment. The city council interviewed three top candidates at the end of May. The search for the director of vitality began on April 22 and ended on May 6, 2024.

Eligibility criteria for the position of Vitality Director are a higher university degree, good familiarity with the industry and experience in management and administrative tasks in the industry. The position of Vitality Director is valid until further notice.

The position of Vitality Director became up for grabs when Mika Herpiö resigned to become Vihti's Vitality Director.
