Get to know volunteer activities with living books on Tuesday 12.3.

The menu group of the Riihimäki region will organize on Tuesday 12.3. from 17:19 to XNUMX:XNUMX at the Riihimäki Library of the Volunteer Library event. The menu group is a regional cooperation network, one of the main goals of which is to increase the awareness of voluntary activities. The group includes actors from organizations, parishes and municipalities.

"The idea of ​​the volunteer library is to offer the residents of the region a low-threshold opportunity to get to know volunteer activities. You can stay at the event at a time that suits you or if you want to stay longer. We welcome everyone who is interested in volunteering to attend. You don't have to be ready to start volunteering. Our event is open to everyone, just like library operations in general", enthuses the chairman of the menu group Reija Lumivuokko from the city of Riihimäki.

The volunteers' library is spread out on the lower floor of the library. The members of the menu group present their volunteer activities with their own points. In addition to general information, experience information is also available. Volunteers already involved in the activity can be borrowed as conversation partners throughout the event. Through these living books, the participants of the event can get to know voluntary activities in a variety of ways from different perspectives.

"Through living books, we hope to be able to convey the good news of volunteering more effectively. Volunteering is reciprocal. It brings joy to all parties involved. Through the activity, the volunteer gets, among other things, experiences of relevance and inclusion", describes Reija Lumivuokko.

During the event, you will have the opportunity to enjoy musical performances by the students of the music college. The event is carried out in cooperation with Riihimäki library and music school. In the volunteers' library, you can familiarize yourself with the volunteer activities of the following actors: Hausjärvi Parish, Hyvinkään Nuorisoasuntoyhdistys ry, Kanta-Hämeen Memorial Society ry, Kotokartano foundation, Mannerheimin Children's Welfare Association Häme district ry, Parasta Lapsille ry, SPR Riihimäki department, Riihimäki city, Riihimäki Marthat ry, Riihimäki region's Carers and Relatives ry and Riihimäki's Sisters and Sims.
