Atle Defense Technologies Oy is located in Riihimäki: the city strengthens its position as a defense technology center
Atle Defense Technologies is located in Riihimäki and seeks growth through the Define ecosystem launched by the city (Defence Innovation Network Finland).
Atle Defense Technologies is an early-stage defense startup company that specializes in innovative defense training solutions. The company was convinced of the support offered by the city in establishing the company.
"At the beginning of June, we participated in the National Defense Arena, where we were impressed by the contacts we made with capital investors, end customers and partner networks. The city's initiative and international level networking made the decision to locate easy," says Andreas von Koskull, CEO of Atle Defense Technologies Oy.
Riihimäki invests heavily in the dual-use and defense sectors and provides a solid foundation for the development of defense technology. Riihimäki is known for the special units of the Finnish Defense Forces, industry-leading companies such as Sako and Millog, and Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), which specializes in robotics. This creates excellent conditions for innovation and growth in the defense sector.
Promoting cooperation between startup companies, the Finnish Defense Forces and HAMK is important to the city. The cooperation orchestrated by the city of Riihimäki creates synergy and innovations that strengthen Finland's defense capability and technological advance. The Define network, which started at the beginning of the year, offers companies opportunities, events and networks to support growth.

Atle Defense Technologies is a defense industry start-up founded in 2023 that develops a new generation of simulation solutions for the defense forces. The company was founded by gaming industry veterans Hannu Saarinen and Andreas von Koskull and Matti Lindroth, who developed banking and simulation solutions. Information about the company's first product will be published in autumn 2024.
