Autumn brings with it a diverse range of culture and events in Riihimäki.

The Antoni House Lunch Gigs, which began last spring, will continue. The lunch gigs, which have become very popular among city residents, are held on the last Thursday of every month, from September to November.

The gigs are free of charge. Anton's house is located a 400-meter walk from Riihimäki train station at Öllerinkatu 3.

In September, lunch will be provided by the band Jori Otsa & Mah'Orkka

On Thursday, September 25th at 11 am, the first Lunchtime gig will be enjoyed in the company of the lush Jori Otsa & Mah'Orkka band. The full-bodied and powerful Jori Otsa and his orchestra will perform the most magnificent and beautiful folk songs, carols, romances, ballads and waltzes from the Finnish and Slavic musical repertoire, interpreting them in an exceptionally believable and unique way.

In October, lunch with Jukka K.

The October Lounaskeikka artist needs little introduction when Jukka K. Show from Riihimäki arrives at Antoni on Thursday, October 30th at 11 am. The amazing Jukka K. Show will instantly draw you into the exciting world of drag entertainment, without forgetting the humor.

Lunchtime companion Pirkko Mannola in November

In November the legendary Pirkko Mannola will be our guest on Thursday, November 27. An unforgettable moment full of musical magic and stories awaits!

Artist Mannola takes you on a journey through the most beloved songs of his career – memorable tunes from several decades, behind-the-scenes stories and a touch of nostalgia. The shared moment is crowned by a warm sing-along and a light atmosphere, where laughter is inevitable. Accompanist is Pekka Pentikäinen.

Autumn star gigs to brighten up the darkening evenings

Autumn also brings a bit of light into the darkness with star-studded concerts. Two wonderful artists will be seen and heard at the star-studded concerts organized by Riihimäki Cultural Services.

Figaro, the messenger of psychedelic pop, will take to the Ö-Klub stage on Wednesday, October 9. Figaro will take his listeners on a colorful musical journey and the gig promises surprises, atmospheres and rhythms that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Another star gig coincides with Mental Health Week, when we will enjoy the magic of word art with Heli Laaksonen on Wednesday, November 19 at Kino Sampo. On Heli Laaksonen's Ilonhilaaja tour, the delightful poet brings warmth, humor and insights, and is art therapy for everyone.

There is a fee for Figaro's and Heli Laaksonen's gigs. Kaikukortti is also valid for the gigs.

The Cultural Path introduces sixth graders to the cultural heritage of glass

The Cultural Path is a national cultural education program that implements a child's right to art and culture. Since 2018, every child in Riihimäki has received a diverse range of art and cultural experiences each year through the Cultural Path.

This autumn, a new content has been added to the cultural trail, Glass Experience, which introduces Riihimäki sixth graders to the history of glass and the shapes and colors of glass objects. Glass Experience consists of a hands-on guided tour of the Finnish Glass Museum and a glassblowing demonstration at the Mafka & Alakoski glass studio.

Welcome to enjoy the culture!
