Anna-Riitta Kujala will become Riihimäki's Vitality Director
Architect Anna-Riitta Kujala has been elected as the new vitality director of the city of Riihimäki. He currently works as a regional architect for the city of Vantaa. The city council unanimously decided on the matter at its meeting on June 3, 2024.
"I am very happy and excited to be able to work together with the people of Riihimäkeli. Riihimäki is a large small town with a lot of potential to enable a new kind of urban life. We need a sustainable alternative to the concentration of urbanization in large cities," says Kujala.
In addition to his education as an architect, Kujala has a Master of Arts. He has studied a lower university degree in land use planning and a specialized professional degree in management. The city government chose engineer (YAMK) Niina Matkala as a substitute.
19 people applied for Riihimäki's vitality manager. The application for the director of vitality began on April 22 and ended on May 6, 2024. The selection of the director of vitality is conditional, and the selection will come into effect after the candidate presents an acceptable medical certificate. The position is subject to a six-month probationary period.
Eligibility criteria for the position of director of vitality were a higher university degree, good familiarity with the industry and experience in management and administrative tasks in the industry. The position of Vitality Director is valid until further notice.
The position of Vitality Director became up for grabs when Mika Herpiö resigned to become Vihti's Vitality Director.
