Early voting for regional and municipal elections begins on Wednesday, April 2nd.

Early voting for the regional and municipal elections begins on Wednesday, April 2, and continues for a week until Tuesday, April 8. There are three early voting locations in Riihimäki:

• Atom shopping center
• shopping center Merkos
• Riihimäki city library.

You can access the Merkos polling station from the main entrance of Tokmanni.

Bring a photo ID.

Remember to bring your ID to the polling station – a driver's license is also acceptable. You do not need to bring your voter registration card to the polling station; a photo ID is sufficient. If you do not have an ID, you can get a temporary ID card from the police department free of charge for voting.

The busiest times of the election have traditionally been the first and last days of early voting and the actual election day. If you want to avoid congestion, consider scheduling your vote outside of these days. The actual election day is Sunday, April 13, 2025.

You can vote in advance at any advance voting station, also outside your own municipality.

On election day, you can only vote at the polling station marked on your notification card. On election day, polling stations are open from 9 am to 20 pm. You do not need a notification card to vote. A photo ID is sufficient.
