Huhtimonmäki will get a new playground and Töyrypuisto will be renewed

A new playground, Kanervapuisto, will be built on Huhtimonmäki this year. The location of the park is next to the light traffic route connecting Kanervakatu and Lylytie. Sustainable development and the circular economy have been taken into account since the planning stage of the playground. In the selection of furniture, emphasis has been placed on the recycling of materials and the carbon footprint as well as the life cycle in public use. The ground stones of the area are used as room dividers, benches and stepping stones. The playground is divided into a quieter area for smaller children and a more active activity area. With tree trunks intended as rotting trees, the outdoor fitness equipment is separated from the functions of the playground.

This year, the small Töyrypuisto in the Koivistonmäki district will also be renovated. The park belongs to Koivistonmäki's provincially significant built cultural environment. The starting points of the Töyrypuisto renovation plan have been to preserve the garden-like character of the park and to direct the activities of the playground to younger children, while the nearby Panimopuisto is aimed at young people.

The park plans have been made in the urban environment planning service area, and the construction of Kanerva and Töyrypuisto are part of the implementation of this year's municipal engineering investment program.
