Private early childhood education

When you choose a private service for your child, you can apply for private care support paid by Kela and municipal supplement for private care paid by the city of Riihimäki. You can find more information about the conditions and application for private care support on Kela's website.

The municipal supplement for private care is paid when early childhood education is provided by a private service provider (nurse at home, private family day care provider or private daycare) and Kela has made a positive decision to support private care. In addition, it is required that the service is used more than 25 hours a week.

The following municipal supplements for private care will be paid to the care provider through Kela as of March 1.3.2025, XNUMX:

• €266 per month when the child is in private group family daycare, family daycare or the child has a caregiver at home
• €708 per month when a child under the age of 3 is in a private kindergarten
• €404 per month when a child over 3 years old is in a private kindergarten
• €473,31 per month when a child of preschool age is in a private kindergarten
• €106 per month, when the child has a hired caregiver at home in addition to municipal pre-school education.
