Family daycare

In Riihimäki, we have several municipal family daycare workers who work in their own homes. Families with many children also have the option of having a family day care provider in their own home in certain situations. In family day care, children receive home-like municipal day care. One of the strengths of the form of treatment is the possibility to respond to exceptional treatment time needs.

Family day care is not reduced during holidays. If the caregiver's vacation or other leave from work takes place during the reduced activities of early childhood education, we offer the child an early childhood education place either in the group of another family day care worker, if there is room in the group, or alternatively in an open early childhood education unit.

The supervisor of family daycare providers and the person responsible for their operations is the early childhood education service supervisor. The operations of family daycare centers are based on the municipal early childhood education plan and the family daycare's own plan drawn up on the basis of it.
