Summer play

Free playground activities for children will be available in the yard of the Junailijankattu kindergarten in the summer of 2026!

Bring your 2-10 year old for free summer play. Open activities are held weekdays from 9 am to 15 pm, from Tuesday, June 2 to Thursday, June 25, except on Midsummer's Eve, Friday, June 19. You can bring your child to the supervised activity for two hours a day.

The activities are led by an early childhood education teacher together with young summer workers from the City of Riihimäki.

Summer play is fun to do outdoors.

Summer play is about play, movement and a summer feeling according to the children's wishes: water games, ball games, board games, fairy tale moments, sand games and other fun things to do together in all weathers. The activities are completely free of charge.

All you need is weather-appropriate clothing and a water bottle – and a summer spirit! Most people enjoy a snack, so you can also pack a small, healthy snack.

The first time the adult bringing the child fills out a contact form and on other days just register when bringing the child. The activity can accommodate a maximum of 30 children at a time, so please be prepared to wait your turn with your child if necessary.

The playground is located at Junailijankatu 12. The playground operates at the Junailijankatu kindergarten, in the yard of Ville-Viipale, the yellow wooden building, in a separately fenced area.

Summer play is a great way to get outside, see friends, and enjoy the summer days in a supervised setting!
