Peltosaari school

Peltosaari School is located in the immediate vicinity of the center of Riihimäki, at Kalevankatu 5–11. Our school has 127 students in grades 1–5. In the sixth grade, students transfer to Harjunrinne or Kara School.

In addition to the simultaneous teacher culture, the strengths of our school's operation are holding regular emotional and interaction classes. Our school's teachers have attended the Yhteipeli project's Emotional and interaction skills training for students, which supports the well-being of the entire school community.

Like other schools in Riihimäki, we use the electronic Wilma system, where you can find, among other things, school announcements and other matters related to school days. Our school also organizes afternoon activities, the primary target group of which are first and second graders.

Peltosaari school started its operation in 1977. The school was located in Peltosaari district until the spring of 2019. After receiving the demolition decision, the school moved to temporary premises in the city center at Kalevantalo. In addition to the school, the Kaleva multipurpose building also houses a music college and a visual arts school.

At Peltosaari school, there is a Pellava parent committee, whose community activities all parents can join voluntarily. Pellava meets a few times a year, and annually organizes, among other things, large Christmas sales.
