Peltosaari school

Peltosaari school is located in the immediate vicinity of the center of Riihimäki, at the address Kalevankatu 5–11. Our school has 186 students in grades 1–5. In the sixth grade, students move to Harjunrinne school. Peltosaari school also has classes for preparatory education and classes for mildly intellectual disabilities.

In addition to the simultaneous teacher culture, the strengths of our school's operation are holding regular emotional and interaction classes. Our school's teachers have attended the Yhteispeli project's Emotional and interaction skills training for students, which supports the well-being of the entire school community. Our school also has an Icehearts teacher. Icehearts is an innovative operating model of early intervention for the benefit of the child and to support social work, school and free time.​

Like other schools in Riihimäki, we use the electronic Wilma system, where you can find, among other things, school announcements and other matters related to school days. Our school also organizes afternoon activities, the primary target group of which are first and second graders.

Peltosaari school started its operation in 1977. The school was located in Peltosaari district until the spring of 2019. After receiving the demolition decision, the school moved to temporary premises in the city center at Kalevantalo. In addition to the school, the Kalevantalo multipurpose building also houses a music college and a visual arts school. The decision to build a new school is being prepared.
