Music play school

The earliest music education is intended for the youngest in the family. We offer many groups for children of different ages. Riihimäki Music College cooperates with several kindergartens, and some of our approximately forty groups meet in them. You can find meeting times and registration status From the epic. Music play school starts on 18.8.2025 August XNUMX.

Groups in the academic year 2025–2026

Music play school's tuition fee is €130. The study place can be canceled free of charge after two trials. You can cancel your place by contacting the music school office at musikkiopisto@riihimaki.fi. For a place canceled in the middle of the semester, the tuition fee will be charged in full. Registration continues after the fall semester automatically to the spring semester. Fall and spring semesters are billed separately.

Lesson descriptions of music play school and music coaching

What is done in music play school? How can I choose the right group for my child? Check out the groups' lesson descriptions.

  • Let's get to know the world of music in a variety of ways, e.g. spinning, singing, rhyming, dancing and moving, and of course playing and tasting maracas and other rhythmic instruments.

The lessons introduce both new and more traditional children's songs and nursery rhymes, which can also be sung with the child at home. Muskari activity strengthens the relationship between parent and child.

As the children grow up and become independent, an increasing part of the muscari efforts are done by themselves.

Muskari family groups are attended together with an adult.

  • We practice the basic concepts of music with the help of different musical ways of working, such as moving, singing, playing and listening, and we learn to work in a group.

Through different songs and rhymes, all traditional rhythm instruments become familiar, playing in the basic beat and word rhythm, and, among other things, accompanying your own song with xylophone pieces.

Versatile musical exercise, coloring pictures related to the themes of the songs and listening to music are part of the muscari's activities.

In Eskari-age music groups, skills already learned are strengthened, such as playing in the basic rhythm and learning e.g. recognize different rhythms and notes. The lessons also introduce the basics of playing the kantele and the ukulele, as well as play a variety of body instruments and other rhythm instruments.

In the muscari group for 3-6 year olds, the child participates without an adult.

  • The ukulele musicians are music groups aimed at preschoolers and first graders, where the emphasis is on playing the ukulele. In addition to playing, during classes e.g. we sing, move, listen and play.

About 20–30 minutes of the class are spent with the instrument. Lessons will also include playing lessons!

To participate in the instrument group, you need your own ukulele. You will receive additional information about purchasing the instrument by email before the start of the lesson.

The Ukulele I group is primarily aimed at those who have participated in the ukulele muskari, but you can also join as an enthusiastic and motivated beginner. The ukulele group practices goal-oriented, so you are a motivated player!

  • In music coaching, we play, sing, listen and move together with friends. During the lessons, e.g. ukulele, kantel, drum and other percussion instruments such as xylophones, glockenspiel and bass and soprano pieces. In addition, during the school year, we get to know different musical instruments and the basic concepts of music. You can sign up for the group if you want to make music together or if, for example, your choice of instrument has not yet been confirmed.
