Patriotic celebrations

Riihimäki's cultural and event services are also involved in organizing patriotic celebrations. The events are organized in cooperation with the parish, the garrison, and veteran and national defense organizations. You can find more detailed information about the events on these pages.

  • On the commemoration day of the end of the Winter War, Wednesday 13.3.2024 March 12 at 4 noon, a silent wreath-laying ceremony will be held at Riihimäki's hero's grave (puistikko XNUMX). The event is open to everyone.

  • The National Veterans Day celebration will be celebrated in Riihimäki on Friday, April 26.4.2024, 13.00 at 5:9 p.m. in Keskuskirke (b. Hämeenkatu XNUMX). This year, at the request of the organizers, the party will be held on a weekday, as XNUMXth graders are also invited to the party.

  • The wreath-laying ceremony for the Remembrance Day of the Fallen will be held on Sunday, May 19.5.2024, 12 at 4 noon at Riihimäki's hero grave (puistikko XNUMX). The event is open to everyone. Participants can wear badges if they wish.

    The program of the event includes choral music, laying of wreaths, speeches and singing together. Choral music is performed by Chamber Choir Gaudete! led by Kari Julén. The speech will be given by lieutenant colonel Marko Uotinen, director of the Electronic Warfare Center, Armored Brigade.

    The event is organized in cooperation with the city of Riihimäki, Riihimäki parish and Hattula-Riihimäki garrison, as well as local veteran and national defense organizations.
