Cultural route

The Riihimäki Cultural Route highlights wonderful and exciting cultural destinations from different parts of the city, from theaters to museums. Along the route, there are signposts and poles that guide the traveler between cultural destinations.

There are two cultural routes, each of which starts at Riihimäki railway station and ends at the Finnish Glass Museum, which is the only national museum of glass in Finland. The routes loop through cultural sites in Riihimäki, such as theaters and museums. The cultural route can be followed in either direction. The longest route is just over four kilometers long. The routes can be taken on foot or by bike.

One of the routes runs along sidewalks and is accessible. This route does not run along the cobblestoned Maantie Road, but instead goes around it along asphalted sidewalks. The other route, on the other hand, runs along Maantie Road, allowing you to explore the cultural and historical area of the Riihimäki Railway Park. The signs and posts along the cultural route inform you about the accessibility of the route.

The cultural route is marked with signs along the entire route, which also indicate distances. There are currently 32 signposts along the route. During 2026, five signposts will be installed on the route, which will have electronic displays. The displays will highlight the city's diverse cultural and event offerings.
