Meadows

The natural meadows blooming in the area shine in different colors according to the seasons. From the beginning of summer, the purple ground hop blooms, which blooms with the help of up to a meter long fronds. The yellow color is given by field chicken.

In the summer, grasses reaching up to a meter in height bloom in the meadow: grass roll, puntarpää, meadow sedge and meadow grass. Among the grasses, the purple field thistle, the white field sedge, the purple magpie bell and the mouse warble stand out. The spectrum of colors is increased by red clover and yellow meadowsweet. The scent of the flowers is complemented by honeysuckle and sycamore.

In the wetlands, the showy sedge also grows, or more precisely, the yellow sedge. The name comes from the sword-like leaves. It has been planted to color the wetland. Flowering occurs in June and is common in southern Finland. Kurjenmikka grows in nature in the shallow water of lush waterways and in tarn fields. Many species are cultivated as ornamental plants. The scientific name of the flowers of the genus Iris comes from the Greek word for rainbow.
