Riihimäki's new and wonderful summer theater can be enjoyed in June. A new covered 451-seat auditorium and technical space, a cafeteria building and public toilets, as well as dressing rooms, toilets and maintenance facilities for staff have been built in the area of ​​Kesäteatteri. In addition to these, accessibility and the general lighting of the area have also been improved, and the electrical connections and equipment have been renewed. The city will also place a new piece of public art in the premises of the summer theater.

Riihimäki summer theater's rising grandstand has 18 rows, 445 seats and 6 wheelchair/loose chair seats.

At the upper end of the stand there is a platform for 6 seats, which is wheelchair accessible. You can also place a loose chair on the platform.

The Wc building and Väliaika Laitinen's sales counter can be accessed along the strip.
The disabled toilet can be found at the beginning of the toilet building.

Rental of the summer theater space

It is possible to ask for the space of the summer theater for rent. During the summer season, Riihimäen Teatteri Oy is responsible for the rental, and cultural and event services are responsible for the rental outside the summer season.

Riihimäki Youth Theatre, Suokatu 9, is an amateur theater that was founded in 1991 and provides basic theater education. The Youth Theater has approximately 450 active members and is Finland's largest amateur theater for children and young people.

Riihimäki Teatteri, Hämeenaukio 1, is a small and warm professional theater. The red threads of the theater are freshness, surprise and reliability. The program is pleasing to the average theater goer and unobtrusive. Riihimäki Theater prefers domestic plays, fast-paced comedies, respected classics and musical plays, and regularly offers theater experiences for children as well.

The Bio Rex cinema is located in the city center at Keskuskatu 8. BioRex Riihimäki comprises two cinema halls and a ticket office. In connection with the renovation (at the end of 2017), the screens and sound technology of both halls were renewed, as well as all the benches.

Cinema Kino Sampo, Suokatu 9, is one of the oldest cinemas still in use in Finland. The film culture association Kino Sampo ry has been established to nurture and promote film culture in Riihimäki. The association shows high-quality films in the cinema Kino Sammo.

The association's goal is to expand the film offering in Riihimäki and to bring people film experiences alongside commercial film activities. The association shows about 40 films annually in the spring, summer and autumn film series.
