Riihimäki Day
The birthday of the city of Riihimäki is traditionally celebrated on Riihimäki Day on Friday, September 11. Riihimäki received city rights in 1960. The city's birthday has traditionally been celebrated every year on Riihimäki Day.
In 2026, Riihimäki Day will be celebrated at the same time as the Night of the Arts event.
Propose Cultural Deed of the Year 2026
The City of Riihimäki is seeking candidates for the Cultural Act of the Year 2026 award. The purpose of the Cultural Act of the Year award is to recognize distinguished cultural actors and cultural acts of the year in Riihimäki, as well as to make local creative expertise visible. Nominations for the Cultural Act of the Year award can be submitted starting September 11th.
