Riihimäki Glows event celebrates the Glass City
This year, Riihimäki Glows with various light decorations in the city center. Inspiration has been sought from the Glass City flagship project of the Riihimäki City Strategy. The Riihimäki Glowing light decorations celebrate glass traditions by bringing familiar glass objects to the city's residents in the form of light, such as the Ilves tin and glass Christmas balls.

The pond in Jukka Jalonen Park will wake up to the winter darkness in a new way when it starts to glow with various light elements starting on December 16. The pond's decorative lights will create an atmosphere, delighting the townspeople until the end of February.
Glass objects on the walls of buildings
The buildings on Hämeenkatu will be adorned with Finnish glass objects as classics familiar to us all are projected onto their surfaces. The images have been carefully selected from the archives of the Finnish Glass Museum for the delight of the city's residents, and on the walls you will find the 2025 anniversary version of the Sun Bottle designed by Helena Tynell, marked in color by everyone, the Ilves can familiar from everyday life, and Aimo Okkolin's Lumpeenkukka vase. The reflectors can be found at Kauppakuja 3–5, Kirkkopolku 6–8: you can see the reflection of the building best from the Hämeenkatu side, and the reflection of the Junailijankulma property at Hämeenkatu 20.
