Kauko Röyhkä is a long-time writer and rock musician who has irritated, shocked and delighted the Finnish people with his songs and novels since 1980. Kauko Röyhkä's first album Steppaillen (1980) is a Finnish rock classic, and his novel Kaksi aurinkoa was nominated for the Finlandia Prize in 1996. Röyhkä has also written film scripts, TV dramas, columns and album reviews, among other things. In 1995, Röyhkä received the Finland Prize and in 2009, the State Art Prize. This versatile talent shows no signs of slowing down.
Kauko Röyhkä will be seen at the artist's evening on Wed 25.3. at 18 pm, when he will take the stage of the nostalgic Kino Sampo, interviewed by Anssi Känsälä. Anssi Känsälä will lead the audience directly into the artist's life, thoughts and soul landscape. The artist's evenings do not stop at just scratching the surface, but now they talk about stories, meanings and sources of creativity, without forgetting music of course.
In the spotlight by the author -Erja Lyytinen:
Erja Lyytinen is one of the leading blues-rock guitarists on the international touring scene. During her recording career, Lyytinen has released twelve studio albums and several live albums. Lyytinen has been voted among the best guitarists in the world in several polls, and now this legendary Finnish blues guitarist and singer-songwriter will take to the stage of the almost equally legendary Kino Sampo on Tue 21.4.2026 to be interviewed by Anssi Känsälä. Anssi Känsälä will lead the audience directly into the artist's life, thoughts and soul landscape. The author evenings do not stop at just scratching the surface, but now talk about stories, meanings and sources of creativity, without forgetting music of course.

Clothes Swap! is coming to Riihimäki – for the first time ever!
Do you have unused treasures and unworn gems hidden in your closet? Bring them to the Clothes Exchange! evening on Tuesday, April 14, 26 from 6–8 p.m. and complete your wardrobe with new items. Clothes will be accepted between 3–5:30 p.m.
What is the Clothes Swap event?
Bring intact and clean clothes, accessories and shoes for recycling (max. 5 pieces). In exchange, you will receive purchase buttons for the number of clothes you brought, which you can use to choose the same number of new clothes. So 1 button = 1 purchase. So make free clothing finds in exchange for your own unwanted clothes. This time we are not accepting children's clothes.
Clothes that do not find a new home during the evening will be donated to Diakonia's clothing point.
The evening will be crowned by the Fair Café, which is open from 17 p.m. to 20 p.m. The proceeds from the café will be donated to the Finnish Nature Conservation Association.
Come swap, have fun and do good – see you at the Clothes for Swap! evening!
Clothes for exchange! – Come and make discoveries and eco-friendly deeds
The event is open to everyone, free of charge and accessible.
P.S. The Community College's craft and sports equipment flea market is also taking place, come and make something you've found with little money!
