Children's cultural Saturdays
Riihimäki offers cultural activities for families with children at the Children's Culture Saturday events organized once a month. Culture Saturdays offer quality workshops for children, theater and film performances, museum visits, music, dance and other cultural events every month.
The event offering is mostly free for children. Efforts have been made to keep ticket prices for paid performances reasonable. You can get tickets for yourself and your children too With an echo card.
The organizers of the children's cultural Saturdays are local cultural sites, and the cultural and event services of the city of Riihimäki are responsible for coordinating the events.
The city of Riihimäki was granted Unicef's Child-friendly municipality -recognition in spring 2023. According to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, every child has the right to cultural experiences and self-expression.

Dance lessons and dance performances
Etelä-Häme Tanssiopisto is organizing January's Children's Cultural Saturday on January 27.1.2024, 10 from 12 a.m. to 7 p.m. The place is Tanssiopiston Tanssisali at Hämeenkatu 2 (XNUMXnd floor).

Fairytale aunt's suitcase theater performance
The Finnish Museum of Glass (b. Tehtaankatu 23) will be celebrating Children's Cultural Saturdays on February 24.2.2024, 10 from 17 a.m. to XNUMX p.m.
The program includes Satutädi's suitcase theater performance at 11 am and 13 pm, where shoes, fun and heartfelt lessons meet! The glass shoe story is a shoe-sized adventure that teaches about the power of difference. The story tells about how every step is a step towards our own strengths. Forget your boring slippers and join this journey of imagination - where every laugh is a step towards self-knowledge! The duration of the performance is approx. 20 minutes and children are responsible for their own adult.
Children's cultural Saturday 24.2. those under the age of 18 have free entry to the museum. Other entrance fees apply normally. The Glass Museum is a Museum Card and Kaikukortti destination.
The museum's changing exhibitions are Kaj Franck - Designer's utopia and Saara Hopea - Choice of beauty. In the museum's basic exhibition, you can get to know the thousands of years old history of glass and the long tradition of Finnish glassmaking and design, as well as the present.

Pippendorf's colorful ghosts play

In Linnateatteri's brand new play, you will get to know the trendiest new designs of ghosts, you will encounter ghosts and goblins, and you will take funny side paths to supernatural wonders.
Tassula market is haunted in the middle of a clear day. The Gray Lady of the Pippendorf manor gets new sheets for the youth of the ghost family from the mail pickup machine. It's Friday and the thirteenth day, which must not be spent in tattered sheets - no matter how fashionable they are. But the package reveals something completely different from the ordered basic sheets. Even the post office can make a mistake on the day of the ghosts... Otherwise, it's completely impossible.
