The purpose of the Animal Welfare Act is to protect animals in the best possible way from suffering, pain and suffering. The law also aims to promote animal welfare and good treatment.
Animal protection inspections are carried out when there is a suspicion of activity in violation of animal protection legislation. Anyone can make an animal welfare report if they suspect that animals are being mistreated. Notification can be made to the supervising veterinarian by phone or e-mail. Outside of office hours, urgent animal protection issues are handled by the police (112) or the municipal veterinarian on duty. Found animals
The municipalities in the area of operation are responsible for the arrangements for the temporary care of found animals themselves. For this purpose, each municipality has entered into an agreement with an animal shelter or something similar.
