Digital workshop

On the ground floor of the library, there is a space called Digipaja, where you can use a powerful computer, a web camera, a green screen, a photography tripod suitable for mobile phones and cameras, and photography lights.

In addition, with the equipment in the room, you can transfer the content of VHS tapes to DVDs and digitize LPs, photos, slides and negatives. You can save digitized recordings and images to a cloud service, CD, USB memory or your own device.

With the computer, you can, among other things, edit videos, photos and audio files, as well as stream and participate in remote meetings.

To digitize VHS tapes, you need to obtain recordable DVDs yourself, which are DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW. Double layer discs (Double Layer, DL) will not work. When making an appointment, note that the digitization takes as long as the duration of the video recording. The library has an adapter for small VHS formats Super VHS and VHS-c.

VIDEO 8, Hi8, Digital 8 and miniDV formats must be digitized via a camera, and the customer must bring their own camera and the necessary camera cables.

The model of the device used for digitizing video tapes is the LG DVD/VCR Recorder RC388.

It is possible for first-timers to receive instruction on how to use the devices. You must always agree on guidance in advance. Guidance is available mainly on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 15 p.m. The devices are otherwise available to you during the library's opening hours. There is no guidance during the summer season from 1.6st of June to 31.8st of August.
