Services offered to early childhood education groups

The library's children's and youth department offers the following services to early childhood education groups:

•  First time for Eskari / library visit in autumn or spring / 1 hour
  • A playful introduction to library services
• Story time for the kindergarten group / 1 time / operating year
• Book package / 2 packages / group / operating year

Story time

Kindergarten groups can order a story time from the children and youth department. Story times are held one / group / year of operation. Groups can also hold a self-paced story times in the library's Story Room by reserving the space in advance from the children's and youth department.

Book packages

The children's and youth department collects, borrows and delivers, upon request, materials from the children's department to the early childhood education groups in Riihimäki according to the group's wishes.

The loan period for books is three months, for music recordings and audio books one month. Borrowing requires that the group has a community card for Riihimäki City Library. More detailed information about obtaining a community card is available from the library. A maximum of 2 packages are collected and delivered to the same group / operating year.

The city's contracted courier delivers the book packages to units owned by the city of Riihimäki. The daycare/preschool must order the return transport from the courier themselves via text message. The courier's phone number is included with the bags. Private parties can pick up the package from the Children and Youth Department's advice center.

Self-service visits for borrowing

Groups can visit the library independently on weekdays from 9 am. Customer service starts at 11 a.m., but the staff of the children's and youth department serve early childhood education groups even before that.
