Children and young people

The children's and youth department and customer service are located on the upper floor of the library. Borrowable materials are also available in the Lower Hall on the lower floor of the library and in a storage room open to customers.

  • There is a dedicated customer service desk for children and young people, where you can ask for advice and borrow materials.

  • Children's material is grouped into, among other things, picture books, fairy tales, easy-to-read and other narrative literature. There are also plenty of non-fiction books, films, audiobooks and e-books for children.

    You can find children's digital games in the Little Room, located upstairs next to the customer service desk. You can find children's and family board games in the Lower Room downstairs.

  • There is a dedicated space for young people, where you can find books, films and TV series, magazines, comics and audiobooks for young people. You will also find material for young adults here.

    Foreign language literature and films for young people can be found next to the return machine upstairs.
    Digital games for young people can be found upstairs in the Little Room, next to the customer service desk.
    The Rainbow Shelf is located in the Lower Hall downstairs.

    Books and furniture for the children's and youth department

  • The story room is at your disposal, if the library has not reserved it for its own activities. In the fairytale room, you can play, draw or do homework. Here you can also find board games to play in the library.

    Story time

    In the Fairy Tale Room, you can participate in an open fairy tale class every third Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:30. Fairy tale classes are usually held in the autumn term from September to December and in the spring term from January to May. See the library's event calendar for more detailed times.
    Storytimes for daycare and preschool groups must be arranged separately.

  • The library's children's department has three display cabinets where you can bring your own collections of interest to child customers to display for one month.   • You can find magazines for children and young people next to the return shelf for children's materials.

    Children's and youth magazines are usually kept for the current year, with exceptions after the magazine.
