Celia services for people with reading disabilities

The accessibility library Celia is a state-run special library that produces and distributes literature for people with reading disabilities in the form of e-audiobooks and audiobooks, among other things.

A reading barrier can be, for example:

  • visual impairment or impaired vision
  • reading and/or learning difficulties
  • disability
  • obstacles related to movement (for example muscle disease, rheumatism, impaired muscle condition)
  • problems related to cognitive skills (for example, concentration and learning difficulties, ADHD, memory disorders, aphasia)
  • temporary impediment to reading (for example, recovery time from an illness)

Accessibility library Celia's audiobook collection currently has around 40 audiobooks, and the collection is growing all the time. Accessibility library You can browse Celia's collection without a login in the Celianet online library.

From the beginning of 2023, Celia's new official name is Accessibility Library Celia. The new name better describes both Celia's diverse customer base and the library's broad mission field.

Become a Celia customer through the Riihimäki city library

An appointment will be reserved for you to create domain names. With the credentials, you can listen to and download the Accessibility Library Celia's audio books online. To get credentials, you must have a valid e-mail address.

If using online services is difficult for you, you can get audiobooks mailed to your home or borrow Celia's physical audiobooks from the library. You can listen to them, for example, on a computer, mp3 or DVD player or a special Daisy player.
