Borrowable exercise equipment

You can borrow sports equipment, games and camping equipment from the sports equipment lending office located in Riihimäki library during the library's service hours, reserved equipment also during self-service hours. Liikuntavälinelainaamo has been implemented in cooperation with Riihimäki city's sports center and Riihimäki library. To borrow instruments, you need a library card.

You can borrow exercise equipment with a library card during library service hours. The loan period for exercise equipment is 14 days, and the late fee is in accordance with the library's valid price list. Damaged or lost equipment will be charged according to the purchase price of the equipment. Exercise equipment must be returned to Riihimäki library dry and cleaned during the library's service hours.

It is possible to reserve exercise equipment, but Riihimäki Library does not lend exercise equipment as regional loans, and exercise equipment loans cannot be renewed. Exercise equipment cannot be reserved from other Ratamo libraries either. You can search and reserve exercise equipment in the Ratamo online library. To make a reservation, you need the Ratamo library's Library card and pin code. You can also call or make a reservation while doing business in the library.

Outdoor chess

An outdoor chess area was built in Lounaspuisto, next to the library, as a result of a participatory budgeting vote. You can get the chess pieces by borrowing the key to their storage box from the library.

The key must be returned to the library after the game. 50 euros will be charged for an unreturned key.

Loanable tools

Through participatory budgeting, a tool lending point was added to the Riihimäki City Library. You need a library card to borrow tools. To select tools, the library conducted a two-part customer survey in spring 2024, one in which people could vote on the tools to be purchased with post-it notes in the library and the other was an electronic zef survey online. The budget allocated for the tool lending point was €1000.
