Reading coaching is professional guidance for those who need help with their reading choices. You can ask for reading recommendations when you need something new to read and can't think of one yourself. The training is always tailored to your wishes. At Riihimäki, we focus on adult fiction and biographies.

The service starts with a survey of your needs. You will be given a form to fill in, which asks, among other things, what you usually read, your favorite books and authors, what you don't like in any case, which genres of literature you are familiar with or what you are unfamiliar with, etc. The form also asks for your contact information. The completed form is delivered to the library.

It takes 2-3 weeks to complete the task and after this the customer receives a list of the selected books. The list has a short description of each book. If the customer wants, the reader coach collects some of the books on the list in a bag and the customer can choose the books they want from the bag.

Forms for mapping reading preferences can be picked up at the library's service desk. You can also call the library (019 758 4678) and request that the form be sent by post. Or you can contact us by email (kirjasto@riihimaki.fi) and request that the reading coaching form be sent to the customer's email. You can also print the form yourself: Reading coaching.
