The open senior activity of the city of Riihimäki is an activity open to everyone and free of charge. Pre-registration is not required and you can come along when it suits you.
The activities are organized at a meeting place in Riksula, at the library and Peltosaari, and in the summer at the Senioripuistoilu in different parts of the city.
When you need company, refreshment for mind and body, or activity in your everyday life, open senior activities are for you! Perhaps you have an aging loved one for whom participation in senior activities would be a good thing.
If you can't find an option in our activities that suits you, or you need support in finding a suitable activity, you can contact the Kotokartano Foundation's Tepsivä instructor at 050 598 2276. The Tepsivä instructor will help you find a way to participate in senior activities that is just right for you.

The summer 2025 Senior park recreation season is May 19.5. – 15.8. The program included relaxed togetherness, nice things to do together, and coffee and buns. The activity is open to everyone and free of charge. Senior parks are organized in cooperation with Kotokartano Foundation.

Do you miss content or meaningfulness in your everyday life? Or Do you feel lonely? From the Tepsivä instructor, you can get information about activities aimed at the elderly and, if necessary, support for participation. The electronic wellness prescription is not currently available, but you can contact the Tepsivä instructor by phone. The Kotokartano Foundation's activity supervisor acts as the Tepsivä instructor.
After the contact, the Tepsivä instructor prepares a well-being plan based on the client's needs. Tepsivä activity is free of charge and all related discussions are confidential.
If necessary, the Tepsivä instructor can look for a solution to the customer's situation together with other Tepsivä team members. This requires separate consent from the customer.
In addition to the city of Riihimäki and Kotokartanosäätiö, the Tepsivä team includes employees from the social and health services of Oma Häme, the diaconate work of the Riihimäki Evangelical Lutheran congregation, the Riihimäki region's Caregivers and Relatives ry and the Kanta-Häme Memorial Society ry.

In the senior gym and in various exercise groups, you strengthen and maintain good functional ability and meet other seniors.

Volunteers offer free, refreshing car trips to the elderly. The purpose of the trips is to bring variety and joy to everyday life and alleviate the experience of loneliness. The trip is usually 1-3 hours long, and its content is planned taking into account the wishes of the elderly. Car trips also bring joy to the volunteer.
