Inspections during construction work

The permit decision defines which inspections will be carried out during the construction work. Order the inspections, unless otherwise stated, from building control no later than three days before they are delivered. The builder or his representative must be present at the inspection. The builder must ensure that the site inspection document can be inspected and/or signed by the inspector at the construction site.

Structural survey

The building inspection is carried out when the building's frame and other load-bearing structures have been completed. These structures must not be covered before the structural inspection.

Chimney inspection

The chimney inspection is carried out when the chimneys are ready, but before they are put into operation. The inspection is carried out by the responsible foreman.

Inspection of the oil heating plant

The inspection of the oil heating system is carried out within three months of the commissioning of the oil heating system. The installation company orders an inspection from the rescue authority.

Commissioning review

Final review

The final inspection is carried out when the building and yard arrangements are complete. The building and the surroundings must be in a condition according to the approved drawings.

Water and sewer installations

The inspections to be carried out include the inspection of underground drains, pressure tests of pipelines, commissioning and final inspections of the system.

Inspections required by other authorities and installations

• Underground oil tanks: Installation inspection of the tank is carried out before it is covered. Order an inspection from the on-duty fire marshal of the regional rescue service, tel. 040 551 5212.
• Electrical installations: In all semi-detached houses and smaller construction operations, before commissioning the premises, the electrical contractor must carry out a commissioning inspection of his installations. The protocol of this inspection must be at the construction site during the commissioning inspection performed by the building control.
