Location information

Geospatial information helps us understand the world with the help of locations. It helps us, for example, to find routes and plan cities. Location information can be easily found on the web and in mobile applications, and it can make our everyday life smoother.

Geospatial services produce expert services and the land use geospatial unit of Elinvoima's branch is responsible for maintenance.

Geospatial services take care of the maintenance of the city's geospatial information system and coordinate development and deployment projects related to geospatial information.
Riihimäki city map service is a web browser-based service maintained by the city.

The map service provides up-to-date information produced by the city in the form of map materials and target-like objects, such as basic education sites. The map service also includes materials from other actors, such as the Geological Survey of Finland's soil map.

Interface services mean an electronic service for transferring spatial data from one system to another. Through the interface services, it is possible to get up-to-date material directly from the information producer. When using interfaces, you need geographic information software that supports the utilization of materials.

The city of Riihimäki uses the EUREF-FIN GK25 coordinate system (EPSG 3879).

The height system is N2000. Until 2012, the N43 system was in use. You can calculate the difference between the height systems using the formula: N2000 – N43 = + 0,347m
The city regularly receives feedback on errors in car navigators and the Google Maps map service. Unfortunately, the city is not involved in the maintenance of map materials of private service providers, but the responsibility always lies with the service provider in question.

- TomTom: Contact regarding map changes is made through the MapShare Reporter service. The service requires login.
- HEREWeGo (formerly Navteq): You can report map errors via the map service's "Feedback" link.
