Measurement services include, for example, measurements required for a building permit, such as marking and checking the location and elevation, building permit statements regarding land use, municipal engineering measurements, updating the base map of the site plan, and measurements of the main point system.

Survey

In areas that have changed due to construction or other reasons, mapping is carried out to maintain the base map of the formula. During the survey, the measuring groups also occasionally move on private plots. Mapping is performed with a total station or GNSS receiver.

Marking of the location of the construction site

The official control of construction is handled by the city's building control. As a general rule, a building permit is always required for construction. The building permit shows the inspections carried out during the construction work, which includes the location marking of the building.

Marking of the building's location is always done for new buildings and on a case-by-case basis, for example for extensions, if the building permit decision so requires.

The location of the building is marked on the terrain in accordance with the approved drawings before starting the construction work with nail piles. It is also possible to order a preliminary marking of the building's location for excavation, where the four corners of the building are marked with strips. When using a preliminary marking, the actual location marking must also be ordered. The height station is marked on a nearby fixed object on the plot, for example a street light pole.

The marking of the construction site must be ordered at least three working days before the desired time.

Location overview

The building permit indicates whether a site survey is required for the construction site. When the foundations of the building have been made, a site survey of the foundations is carried out to ensure that the building complies with the building permit. The site survey is done by the land use survey team by measuring the location of the building.
