Preparation steps and background materials

Work on the service network reform of the city of Riihimäki started in the spring of 2019.

The city ordered a service network survey from WSP Finland Oy. The survey was completed in January 2020. The survey assessed the functionality of the current service network and included all the city's services. As a result of the investigation, four alternatives emerged, on the basis of which an implementation plan was drawn up as the basis for further measures.

The city council discussed the reform in March 2020 and returned the service network reform to preparation again. At the same time, the council gave the city government the task of establishing a political steering group for the further preparation of the reform. Based on the work of the steering group, the service network was again decided by the council in September 2020.

In January 2022, the mayor presented to the city board a review of the service network decision made in 2020. The city council approved the proposal at its meeting on January 31.1.2022, 7.2.2022. The city council decided on the establishment of a steering group on Monday 21.6.2022 February XNUMX. The steering group worked on their presentation and it was completed on June XNUMX, XNUMX.
