R-ride and service lines

R-kyyti is a ride-hailing service that allows you to travel on request to many places and times that are not accessible by scheduled bus services.
R-kyyti operates from stop to stop within its defined service area.
R-kyyti is ordered using Matkahuolto's Matkat app or by calling. Trips ordered using R-kyyti are combined with other trips.
R-kiyti is operated by minibuses, which can accommodate a maximum of 16 passengers at a time, one wheelchair or a few rollators and/or strollers. R-kiyti cars have low floors, so they are easy to board even with assistive devices. The driver will help you get on and off the bus if necessary. However, the driver will not help with moving around or carrying items, for example to the front door. There is no separate fee for transporting assistive devices.
You can pay for your journey using the app when ordering or when boarding the bus. You can also buy a separate mobile ticket (for example, a season ticket). R-kyyti operates every day of the year from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Exceptions to service times
June 19, 2026 (Midsummer Eve) R-kiyti will be running from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM and from 6:15 PM to 11:00 PM.
June 20, 2026 (Midsummer's Day) R-kiyti will be running from 5:00 to 10:00, from 10:45 to 17:30 and from 18:15 to 23:00.December 24 (Christmas Eve) R-kiyti will run from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM and from 6:15 PM to 11:00 PM.
December 25 (Christmas Day) R-kiyti will operate from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM, from 10:45 AM to 5:30 PM, and from 6:15 PM to 11:00 PM.Service area and stops

- When entering addresses, enter "Riihimäki" before or after the address, if necessary. You can also search for routes by stop names.
- If you want to pay for the ride in the car, select "I will pay in the car or I have a valid ticket" as the payment method.
- You can search for routes and buy tickets to other cities as well. The application can automatically suggest a combination of an R-ride and a bus or train route. See the services available in the application here.
Things to consider
- If you want to secure a ride at a specific time, book it well in advance.
- For example, if your train leaves or your doctor's appointment starts at a certain time, book a ride based on your arrival time and remember to also allow time to walk from your arrival stop.
- Be at the pick-up location on time
- The driver cannot be kept waiting.
- If necessary, cancel the ride well in advance from the app.
- The R-ride is then freed up for others to use.
- A ride must be ordered separately for each trip. For example, the car will not wait for the customer while they shop. The car will also not be able to pick up friends along the way.

Overview
These terms of use apply to the use of the R-ride ride hailing service. In order to use R-ride, the user must carefully read and accept these terms of use before using the service.
R-ride ride hailing service
R-ride transports customers within the defined service area and service hours based on orders placed by customers. The R-ride picks up and drops off at the designated bus stops. People with reduced mobility and those traveling with heavy luggage are entitled to order an R-ride from address to address if necessary. The mobile application or the customer service representative will inform you of the pick-up location.
The automatic routing system connects passengers traveling in the same direction and at the same time to the same routes, so that the cars can transport as many customers as possible. Because of this, the pick-up time for R-ride is announced as a flexible interval. The departure and/or arrival times of the trip and the travel time can flexibly change within the stated time limits. The driver picks up and drops off customers according to the schedule generated by the routing system.
The R-ride ride hailing service is organized by the city of Riihimäki as the competent authority for road traffic, which orders the necessary transport service from taxi or public transport companies with the appropriate license.
Ordering a ride
R-ride is ordered in advance either with an application that can be downloaded to mobile devices or by calling customer service.
When the trip is ordered and paid for with the application, the customer pays the indicated price with the payment method saved in the application at the time of ordering. The application provider defines the available payment methods, and the user must accept the terms of use of that application. Payment is charged at the time of order.
When the trip is ordered with the app, but paid for in the car, or when the trip is ordered by calling customer service, the ride is paid to the driver upon boarding or with a separately purchased ticket product. The currently valid payment methods and ticket products are announced On the Travel tickets page. The trip will be charged according to the valid price list.
Before confirming the order, check that the pick-up point, destination, desired time and passenger and equipment information are correct. If the trip is ordered for another person, the customer must mention the passenger's name in the additional information of the order. Please note that the pick-up point can be located a short walk away from the place of order even when ordering from address to address.
With the application, you can also order an R-ride as part of a travel chain, i.e. you can order an R-ride and another public transport trip at the same time. In this case, the R-ride order cannot be cancelled.
Picking up the customer
The customer should always be prepared to be at the pick-up location at the earliest possible pick-up time.
The original promised pick-up time of the ride is indicated in the application in the order information. The estimated pick-up time is announced shortly before the earliest possible pick-up time, but it can change forward or backward within the promised time window. The customer can also follow the arrival of the car from the app's map. R-ride cannot wait for a customer, because it has to stick to the schedule promised to other customers. Instead, the customer may have to wait for the R-ride for the time window indicated.
Customers who have made an appointment by calling will not be notified of the exact pick-up time. The customer must be prepared to wait at the indicated pick-up location throughout the indicated pick-up time.
When getting on the ride, the customer must tell the driver their name, so that the driver can confirm that the correct customer has been picked up.
Canceling and not using the ride
Unused R-ride orders must be canceled as early as possible so that the cars are not unnecessarily reserved and are freed up for use by other customers.
If the customer does not use the ride they paid for with the application without canceling it or at the time of cancellation it is less than an hour before the earliest pick-up time, the normal price of R-ride will be charged for the order as compensation for the unnecessary reservation of the car.
An R-ride order made with the application, which is part of a travel chain, cannot be cancelled. Travel chain refers to the combination of another public transport ticket and R-ride, which have been purchased at once in the application
If the same customer frequently does not use the rides they have ordered without canceling them, after five (5) non-cancellations, the right of the customer in question to make R-ride orders can be denied.
A place must be reserved for all persons
The number of all passengers must be stated when ordering. Also, for example, children traveling free of charge, so that the necessary seats can be reserved in the cars and all customers can certainly fit on board. The driver has the right to deny boarding to additional passengers who are not specified in the order, because the seats in the car may already be reserved for other customers.
The number of passengers in the order cannot be changed after the order has been placed. If you want to change this, you have to cancel the order and make a new order.
The driver of R-ride cannot act as an assistant or escort for children traveling independently or other persons who need help. If the passenger needs an escort, they must also be indicated as a passenger in the order.
Refunds
Payment is not refunded for trips ordered in error. We offer a full refund for rides paid for with the app when ordering, if the ordered ride is missed or significantly delayed for reasons other than the customer's fault and this has been complained about within 48 hours (see Feedback and complaints).
The pick-up and arrival time of R-ride is announced at the time of ordering as a time slot. The ride is considered late only if the pick-up or arrival takes place after these time intervals. The ride is considered significantly late if the pick-up or arrival takes place more than 10 minutes after these time intervals. The payment will not be refunded if the pick-up and arrival have taken place within these time intervals or if the overrun is a maximum of 10 minutes.
Transporting children
Parents or guardians are fully responsible for the actions of minors, even if the child is traveling unaccompanied.
We cannot guarantee that there is always an appropriate car seat for a child under 3 years old. If the age or size of the child requires a car seat, arranging one is ultimately the responsibility of the guardian or adult traveling with the child, and the responsibility for a child traveling without an appropriate car seat lies with the adult in question.
Aids
It is possible to transport wheelchairs, rollators and strollers, if a place has been reserved for them when ordering. R-ride does not offer a customer escort service, so please be aware that if you need an assistant either at the departure or arrival address, the driver cannot act as an assistant.
Pets, luggage, bicycles and other means of transport
It is possible to transport harmless pets, luggage, bicycles and other means of transport, but the driver must be informed about them in the additional information of the order.
The driver can refuse to take a pet on board if it can be reasonably assumed to cause a disturbance or be a danger to other passengers, the driver or other pets already on board.
R-ride is not responsible for passengers' possible allergic reactions, which the pets currently or previously in transport may cause to the passenger.
The driver can refuse to take luggage, bicycles or other means of transport on board if there are many passengers or other luggage or means of transport in the car. The means of transportation is placed in the low-floor part of the car. The customer is responsible for securing the vehicle or luggage during the trip.
Smoking and alcohol consumption are not allowed
You may not smoke, use e-cigarettes, intoxicants, or consume alcoholic beverages in R-ride's cars. The driver may require the passenger to leave the ride if they do not comply with the prohibition mentioned here.
Compensation is charged for damage to the car
If the customer causes the car to get dirty (e.g. as a result of feeling sick) or damages the car, the customer is obliged to reimburse the cleaning and repair costs directly to the transport company. The driver can charge the customer the compensation directly in the car, or the transport company can send an invoice afterwards. If necessary, the customer can contact R-ride's customer service if there are any ambiguities in the compensation claim.
No harassment
R-ride has zero tolerance for any kind of harassment and inappropriate behavior. The driver is obliged to remove a customer who harasses other passengers or the driver in a sexual, racist or other inappropriate manner, and does not immediately stop the harassment, despite the request. Harassment is behavior that the target interprets as harassment, insulting or otherwise inappropriate.
The driver has the right to refuse to pick up a customer who behaves aggressively or in a way that can be expected to disturb or pose a danger to other passengers or the driver. The driver has the right to prevent a customer who harassed a fellow passenger as described above from leaving the ride at the same address as the harassed customer, if, in the driver's judgment, the safety of the harassed would otherwise be threatened.
R-ride reserves the right not to take on board a customer who has committed the harassment described above while using R-ride in the past and has not stopped the disturbing or improper behavior after receiving a warning. In the situations described above, the price of the paid ride will not be reimbursed to those removed from the ride or left behind.
Travel chains
If you use the R-ride as part of a journey (e.g. to continue the journey with another transport service), please make sure you have enough time to change from one mode of transport to another. The city of Riihimäki limits the compensation liability to the price of the R-ride ride hailing service if you miss the your connection.
Although we strive to be punctual in the announced times, we cannot guarantee a minute schedule, and we do not refund the price of the ride for minor delays. If you want to, for example, make sure that you arrive at the train station on time, place a ride order by setting the arrival time so that you have plenty of time to get on the train.
You can also search for a trip to a destination in another location, in which case the application can already suggest a journey chain formed by R-ride and a train or bus and schedule the R-ride according to the departure time of the train or bus. Please note, however, that the exchange is not guaranteed, so the purchase of travel chains with a short exchange period is the customer's responsibility, and the onward connection will not be refunded if the R-ride is late.
Feedback and complaints
Feedback and complaints regarding the R-ride ride hailing service must be submitted Riihimäki's feedback service or via the subscription app.
Processing of personal data
The provider of the invitation traffic platform and the order application acts as the registry keeper. In order to use R-ride, the user must accept the processing of personal data in accordance with the privacy statement of the invitation traffic platform and the ordering application provider.
For now, R-ridecan only be ordered with Matkahuolto's Reitit ja Liput application or by calling the customer service number. Matkahuolto's Data Protection Statement according to Articles 2016 and 679 of the European Union Data Protection Regulation (13/14) can be read From Matkahuolto's website.

Service lines 11 and 12 follow a specific route and have a specific schedule. You can board or disembark along the route at places other than the bus stops, if it is safe to stop there.
When boarding, you can ask the driver:
- To take you to a place slightly off the route
- To pick you up during the same day on the way back from a place slightly off the route
Service line 11 runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Joosepinkuja to Atom at 9 am and back at 11 am.
