Tickets

In the Riihimäki area, you can travel with multiple types of tickets and use several different payment options.

Some of the ticket types listed on this page are also valid on regional buses when traveling within Riihimäki. However, these tickets cannot be used as partial payment for trips outside Riihimäki. Only Uusimaa and Häme region season and series tickets are valid for trips outside Riihimäki. You can find more information at the bottom of this page.

For long distance buses, you should check the accepted payment methods and tickets from the operator's website. For information about train travel, on the VR website..

The short address of this page is www.riihimaki.fi/matkaliput.

Payment methods

  • You can purchase different types of tickets on mobile ticket applications. You can buy a mobile ticket at any time before boarding the bus.

Riihimäki uses the following mobile ticket applications:

    Tickets (PayiQ)

You can download the mobile ticket app free of charge for Android and iOS phones from app stores.

      • For other ticket products, the validity period starts immediately from the moment of purchase

    • Buy a ticket or activate a single ticket from your series ticket before boarding the bus
    • Show your ticket to the bus driver from your phone screen. If your ticket has a QR code, show it to the QR reader when boarding the bus.
      • If the ticket you bought from Reitit ja Liput application doesn't show a QR code, show the ticket to the driver

  • Adult

    • 16 € / 10 trips
    • 44 € / 30 trips

Child / young person (ages 7–19)

    • 8 € / 10 trips

A ticket activated with the Tickets application is valid for 60 minutes and you can use it to make more trips if the ticket is valid when you get on the bus. With the Reitit ja Liput application, series tickets are currently only valid for one journey at a time for technical reasons, i.e. they do not include the right to change.

  • You can buy the best price ticket with the Tickets mobile application. The ticket is sold to both adults and children/teenagers (ages 7–19).

The price of the ticket is determined by the number of trips you make. As the name suggests, the ticket guarantees the cheapest price without you having to know in advance how much you will travel.

An example of how the best price tickets works during 24 hours:

    • The first ticket costs the same as a standard single ticket
    • The second ticket also costs the same as a standard single ticket
    • When buying a third ticket, you only pay 50 % of the price of a regular single ticket. The ticket type switches to a day ticket.
    • After this, you can travel as much as you want for 24 hours from the time you purchased the first ticket.

Similarly, if within 30 days you purchase best price tickets in an amount equal to the price of the 30-day season ticket, your ticket type switches to a XNUMX-day season ticket.

Even if you don't travel so much that the limits mentioned above are met, you won't lose anything, because the best price ticket will never cost more than the price of a single ticket.
