General information about R-traffic

Bus schedules are planned so that they serve as well as possible as a connection to trains. However, the train schedule is so frequent especially in the mornings, that it is not possible to connect all buses to trains with no waiting times in between. Our aim is to ensure good connecting buses to at least the local trains towards Helsinki.
Bus schedules are also planned to be as compatible as possible with the start and end times of schools. Schools can decide their own starting and ending times, so the times may wary. In addition to the school schedules, the bus schedule mus also take into account other things, such as the aforementioned trains. Also, one bus can transport students to several different schools. Consequently, it is not possible to plan bus timetables in a way that leaves no waiting time for at least some of the students.

You must give a clear signal to an approaching bus, so the driver knows to stop. Please give a clear signal early. If it is dark outside, wear a reflector or use a flashlight or a light from your phone. Show a signal until the bus turns on the blinker. If you find it hard to recognize the bus line, it's best to stop the bus and ask the driver about the route of the bus.
-
If you intend to transfer from one bus onto another, please inform the driver of the bus, so they can do their best to ensure a successful transfer. The buses can sometimes run a bit late, so a transfer may not automatically succeed.
Depending on the bus lines, you can also transfer buses in places other than the train station, in which cases there might be more time for a transfer.
-
Information about cancelled buses or significant delays will be posted on this page (as well as the subpages) as soon as possible after the problem has occurred.
