Riihimäki's built cultural environments
Riihimäki's rich architectural heritage
Riihimäki's built cultural environments is a comprehensive survey of valuable built cultural environment sites in the city area. In the survey, nationally and provincially significant built cultural environments have been taken into account and the list of locally significant sites has been updated to reflect the current situation. Riihimäki's locally significant building heritage was last listed in the Riihimäki building culture 2010 survey. The list of locally significant sites has been supplemented in the new survey work so that it gives a comprehensive picture of the values of the Riihimäke cultural environment.
The update of Riihimäki's built cultural environments survey was carried out between June 2019 and February 2020. The survey serves as survey material for the general zoning, which is done on the principle of continuous planning, with regard to the built cultural environment.

The starting point of the Häme provincially valuable built cultural environments update study were the valuable built cultural environments indicated in the Kanta-Häme provincial plan 2006, as well as the building heritage inventories and valid plans of the municipalities of Kanta-Häme. One key goal in the survey was to consider the architecture of the last decades of the 1900th century and the beginning of the 2000st century as part of the provincially valuable building heritage.
