Station plan change

The aim of the plan amendment is to expand the area of ​​industrial properties in the planning area and adjacent to it into the protective green area according to the current local plan. The local plan amendment also takes into account the regulations regarding stormwater management in particular.

  • The City Board has decided to start the local planning process in connection with the approval of the Riihimäki local planning review 2024 on 11.32024 (§ 86). The change to the Viljamaantie 1–5 local plan is in the local planning reviews 2024 and 2025 with the object code A1.

    The City of Riihimäki and three other landowners in the area have agreed to amend the area's local plan. The amendment to the local plan will be prepared as the city's own work.

    The initiation of the plan was announced in the city's official newspaper, Aamuposti, and on the city's website on March 14, 2026.

    Participation opportunities in the different stages of planning are presented in the participation and evaluation plan.

  • The draft of the change to the local plan was put on display as an official work. The display of the draft was announced in the city's official bulletin Aamuposti and on the city's website on March 14, 2026.

    The draft plan material was available on this website and at the Veturi office from March 16, 2026 until April 8, 2026.

    A reception for the planner regarding the plan change and the materials on display was organized on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Anton's house. There were no visitors at the reception regarding this plan change.

    Participants had the opportunity to submit their opinions on the draft plan while it was on display. The necessary official statements were also requested during the drafting phase.

  • Processing and display of the planning proposal

    The Viljamaantie 1–5 local plan proposal will be on display from 25 May to 23 June 2026

    The proposed urban plan will be available for 30 days on this website and on the notice board of the Riihimäki Information Centre (Eteläinen Asemakatu 2). The posting was announced via an online announcement on the city's website on 21 May 2026.

    Leaving a reminder

    You can leave a comment (feedback) about the proposed town plan while it is on display. The comment should be submitted to the Riihimäki City Registry Office at Eteläinen Asemakatu 2, PO Box 125, 11101 Riihimäki or by email to kirjaamo@riihimaki.fi.

    The submitted reminders will be included as part of the planning application. The content of the reminders can be summarized if necessary and personal information removed. The original reminders are always available to planners and decision-makers.

    In the next stage (approval stage), responses to the objections are prepared. The response and information about the decision to approve the local plan are delivered separately to the person who submitted the objection, if requested in the objection.

    During the proposal phase, statements are also requested from the necessary authorities.

  • The City Board will consider the revised plan proposal, the statements and any objections, as well as the responses to them. The City Board will decide to submit the revised plan proposal to the City Council. The City Council will decide to approve the plan. The approval decision will be sent to those who made the objection and to the authorities who have requested notification and submitted their contact information.

    The approval of the plan will be announced on the city's website.

    The parties and members of the municipality may appeal the city council's decision to approve the plan to the Hämeenlinna Administrative Court within a 30-day appeal period. The Administrative Court's decision can be further appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court.

  • The plan will become legally binding approximately 1,5–2 months after the city council's decision, provided that no appeal is filed against the plan.

    The entry into force of the plan will be announced on the city's website.
