Station plan change
The aim of the plan amendment is to expand the area of industrial properties in the planning area and adjacent to it into the protective green area according to the current local plan. The local plan amendment also takes into account the area reservations needed for stormwater management.

The City Board has decided to start the local planning process in connection with the approval of the Riihimäki local planning review 2024 on 11.32024 (§ 86). The change to the Viljamaantie 1–5 local plan is in the local planning reviews 2024 and 2025 with the object code A1.
The City of Riihimäki and three other landowners in the area have agreed to amend the area's local plan. The amendment to the local plan will be prepared as the city's own work.
The initiation of the plan was announced in the city's official newspaper, Aamuposti, and on the city's website on March 14, 2026.
Participation opportunities in the different stages of planning are presented in the participation and evaluation plan.
The work has begun with the preparation of the necessary background materials and reports. This website will provide information on the progress of the planning and how to participate in the planning work.

The draft of the change to the local plan will be displayed as an official work. The display of the draft will be announced in the city's official bulletin, Aamuposti, and on the city's website on March 14, 2026.
The draft plan material can be viewed on this website and at the Veturi office from March 16, 2026 until April 8, 2026.
A reception for the planner will be held regarding the plan change and the materials on display. The meeting will be held at Anton's house in Sali, (address Öllerinkatu 3) on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Participants have the opportunity to leave their opinion on the draft plan during the viewing period.
The necessary authority statements are requested during the draft stage.

During the proposal phase, a plan proposal is prepared based on the draft plan. The planning takes into account the statements and opinions presented during the draft phase, to which responses are also provided.
The City Council will consider the draft plan and its feedback and decide whether to display the proposal. The display of the draft plan will be announced on the city's website. The draft plan will be displayed on this website and at the Veturi office for 30 days.
Participants have the opportunity to leave a comment about the plan proposal during the viewing.
During the proposal phase, opinions are requested from the necessary authorities.

The City Board will consider the revised plan proposal, statements and any objections, including their responses. The City Board will decide to submit the revised plan proposal to the City Council. The City Council will decide to approve the plan. Information about the approval decision will be sent to those who made the objection and to the authorities who have requested notification and submitted their contact information.
The approval of the plan will be announced on the city's website.
The parties and members of the municipality may appeal the city council's decision to approve the plan to the Hämeenlinna Administrative Court within a 30-day appeal period. The Administrative Court's decision can be further appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court.

The plan will become legally binding approximately 1,5–2 months after the city council's decision, provided that no appeal is filed against the plan.
The entry into force of the plan will be announced on the city's website.
