Waste disposal

At the recycling station you can recycle several waste fractions for free.

The waste management of the city of Riihimäki is organized by Kiertokapula Oy. Kiertokapula opened a new small waste station, or recycling station, on September 1, 2025, which receives household waste fractions.

The new circulation station is located near the Riihimäki ABC traffic station on Ansatie. Access is via Kinturintie.

You can bring twigs, raking waste, apples, wood, discarded textiles, metal, SER waste, hazardous waste, impregnated wood, plaster waste, roofing felt and mixed waste to the recycling station at Kiirkapula. Kiirkapula accepts most of the fractions free of charge. Only mixed waste, plaster and roofing felt are subject to a fee.

The city depot's waste collection point has ceased operations after the recycling station opened.
